Basic Info
Name:linnea_dahlgren
Bio
Basic Character Information
Character name: Linnea Dahlgren
Age/D.O.B: 36—February 8, 1972
Occupation: Linnea works at Bedingfield Nurseries, a greenhouse/herb shop/gift shop that specializes in organic herbs, with an eye to supplying covens and individual practitioners. She's worked there for years, and is a jack-of-all-trades, though she prefers to work directly with the growing plants. She also does private consultations—she has the gift of healing, and willingly offers it to those who seek her out or are referred to her. One evening of her week she devotes to a local women's shelter, working with abused and displaced women and children, and Sundays she works in a food co-op, distributing donated food and clothing to the needy. She's always busy.

Appearance
Eye color: Blue.
Hair color: Light/medium blonde.
Weight: 140 lbs
Height: 5'10"
Clothing: Linnea has eclectic tastes. Mostly her clothes are soft and comfortable, of natural materials, and tend toward either pale or dark colors—bright colors wash her out, given she's so fair.
Scars: None.
Tattoos: Linnea has this tattoo on her back, between her shoulder blades.
Other distinctive features: Linnea collects things, often seemingly unrelated, and friends often tell her she's like a magpie, which makes her laugh. There's always a reason for whatever catches her eye, and she can give it, if asked; generally it has some sort of metaphysical resonance for her. Her taste in jewelry runs to silver and moonstone and pearls.
Played-By/PB: Cate Blanchett
Animal Familiar: Raven

Further Details
Species: Witch
Group: Member of the White Coven
How does your character feel about being in this group? Linnea loves being a member of the White Coven. It allows her to work with her humanitarian ideals, her determination to make a difference in the world around her.
Abilities and Strengths: Linnea has been practicing her craft since puberty and has an extensive repetoire of spells and rites. Her main abilities lie in healing, and she accesses power and energy from the use of a raven familiar named Önska (Wish). She can do this at any time, but her powers are strongest during the full moon.
Weaknesses: Physically, she's as vulnerable to harm as a human. She has various protective spells which she will use if necessary, but is reluctant to use spells that are harmful or destructive in nature. Immediately after healing someone, she is at risk because it weakens her a little both physically and spiritually. Weaknesses of personality—she's very much a free spirit, and is resentful of being told what to do, but cooperative when properly approached. Her actions can be unpredictable and contrary to others, but in her mind, they make perfect sense. She can and does rebel when confronted with unreasonable authoritarian demands or dogmatic principles.

Personality
General description: Linnea is very much an individual; freedom-loving, she prefers to be self-sufficient rather than a sheep in society who follows everyone else's lead. She's an independent, highly inventive thinker, fueled by humanitarian ideals. Friendly by nature, she is a good listener and cares deeply for her friends, and is playful and spontaneous. She treasures the unique and looks for it in others. Linnea is altruistic and generally believes the best about people, and is easy-going and open-minded. She is also very willful and gives her all to any cause she embraces. Linnea believes that original thought will win the day and that new thought is what is needed to change the world. Sexually, she's experimental and loves the unorthodox and the unusual—she's not afraid to follow her desires.
Introvert or Extrovert? Extrovert
Phobias or Fears? She fears being boxed in, fears the loss of personal freedom.

Past
Brief History: Both Linnea's parents were members of the White Coven, and both very altruistic, idealistic, and progressive, involved in humanitarian and enviromental efforts. They were pleased when Linnea began seeing her familiar-to-be, and even more so when her power of healing began to manifest. They impressed on her the importance of working with others, of sharing her gifts, of helping those who need it and are open to it.

Linnea began catching glimpses of a raven at the age of nine, and it didn't take long before she realized that not everyone could see it—fellow witches could, but never mundanes, unless the raven, Önska, so wished it. When she reached puberty her powers began to blossom, and her parents sent her for study to her aunt, Niamh Quinn, well-known in Ireland for her healing abilities. She spent many happy years there learning and refining her craft before returning home to San Francisco to practice with her home coven.

Not long after her arrival, one of the coven members recommended her to Nathan Bedingfield, owner of the nursery where she now works, and their relationship has been good. Although she's had numerous affairs, she's had no serious relationships, and she prefers it that way.

Other Information
Where would you like to take your character? Is there anything specific you’d like to do with them? Do you have plot ideas in mind? I'm open to most anything. She doesn't like being allied with the Aurora vampire clan, but has no problems with the Bastet Pride; Michael is a friend and frequent bed companion.

Would you like to have any back-story with pre-existing characters in the game? Because of her job working with herbs, I'd think she'd be familiar, if not friendly, with most of the witches in the covens.
